Feature Request: Action: Change Walk Sound

So I have been doing some digging in the manual and the forum itself.
It seems like there isn't a way to change the walk sound based on trigger boxes. However, I'd love to see this feature in AC.
While I know there are ways to achieve this with sprites, I have no clue on how to do it in a similar, simple way. All the solutions found on the board feel either uncomfy, or are to code heavy to wrap my head around.

So how are chances, that there will be an Action that switches the Walk Sound of Players and NPCs on the fly?

  • In what animation engine?  Depending on, you may be able to do this with the Character: Animate Action, setting the Method to Set Standard.  If your animation engine allows for it, you'll be able to change the walk/run sound there.
  • Oh right, sorry!
    I'm using mecanim, so sadly those options are not existend for me :(
