Pathfinding

I've downloaded a character from Mixamo, with a jogging animation, into Adventure Creator. I want the character to jog round a continuous path and have laid down a Unity NavMesh path and baked it. Unfortunately the character sets off on a straight line along the first part of the path but then runs away when the path bends, disappearing into the distance. How can I constrain the character to stay on the NavMesh path?

  • If the animation relies on root motion, make sure it's checked in the Animator component.  You'll also have to go through his various movement options in AC's Player/NPC Inspector - particularly root motion turning if he also makes use of that.  Are you playing just the one (forward) animation, or are you blending left/right root motion turning animations?
