2D animation of characters

Hello, I am new to this and would like to start well.

I wanted to know what you would recommend I used to create
animated 2D characters for Adventure creator.

I am considering the following: Puppet2D and smoothmoves. Or
should I work with what is available in Unity?

Side question. Do you know if Uni2D and Adventure
creator would work together?

I believe the answer is 2dtoolkit.
