Importing Translation

edited November 2020 in Technical Q&A

Hi;

I try add a translation to my game. I used manual for this but when i try to import my translation the Import wizard did not pop up.

1 - I gather the txet.
2 - I Export speech texts as CSV
3 - I translate all the texts via Open Office (As in Manual Recomended)
4 - I push the botton that seems like a gear near my translated language. And click to Import Text.
5 - I select the CSV file.
6 - And now this is the point that I stuck.

This is the settings that I use in CSV file when I try to open in Open Ofice:

  • What happens exactly after step 5? Does the Console report any error or warning?

    What are your AC and Unity versions? It used to be that AC used to separate fields with a pipe (|) character, but from AC v1.70.0 and Unity 2019.2 onwards, it relies on the standard CSV formatting.

    If you're using correct versions of both, check the export settings of the CSV when saving in OpenOffice - you can test it by opening the file up in a raw text editor. How does a typical section look? Copy/paste a couple of lines from it here so we can check the format.

  • Ok I got it, After saving the CSV file I forgot to close the Open Office LoL My bad...
