Conversations with dialogue system + altering the scene.

Maybe it´s a fuzzy title but this is what I want to achieve:

I have the Dialogue system from pixel crushers that i´m going to use.
My whole game is pretty much a long conversation, it branches pretty far and I want to make things happen in my scene depending on what choises the player makes. For example if the player chooses alternative 1 a light comes on. If the player choose the "right" alternative 10 times music starts playing or a cutscene triggers and so on.

Is this possible and if it is, is it going to be very time-consuming or is there a way to give the different alternatives in the dialouge system unique abilities such as trigger a cutscene or a playmaker script?

I hope you get what I´m after, it´s a little hard to explain

  • Yes you can trigger AC cutscenes from Dialogue System, there's a section about that in its manual; It's not super detailed, but basically if you make a new node in the conversation editor and put AC(cutscene name, nowait) in the sequence field, it will run the cutscene with that name and then move to the next node.
