Skip speech with other keys besides mouse click?

Hey everyone,

Is there a way to skip speech with, say, spacebar instead of / in addition to clicking the mouse?  I've had some playtesters say they instinctively tried to continue dialogue with space, and I'd like to make that possible, but I don't see a way to change what input skips text right now.

If it's not currently possible to make additional keys act that way, could that get added in a future update?

Thanks!

  • Yes - you can map a key to an input named SkipSpeech, and pressing it while speech plays will cause it to be skipped.  You can see this listed, along with other available inputs, in the "Available inputs" box in the Settings Manager.
  • Perfect, thank you!

How does one 'map a key' to any of the available inputs in the settings manager?
Is there a way to do this without scripting?
  • Just define it in Unity's Input Manager.
