Plugin Conflict causing error CS1061: Type 'SceneSettings' does not contain a definition for...

edited August 2014 in Technical Q&A
Imported the asset into my project
"Adventure Creator" menu didn't appear
tried loading demo scene
no game editor window

started a fresh project
imported
menu appeared
loaded demo scene
loaded demo managers
all working

imported other third party plugin
error CS1061 occurs for 12 different SceneSettings definitions
removed c++? dll files imported with the other third party plugin, breaking it...
CS1061 errors gone

Anyway around this without giving up a plugin?

  • It all depends on the plugin in question.  Sounds like there's a conflict with script names - does the other plugin have a class/file called SceneSettings?  AC's SceneSetting class is within it's own namespace, which means the other plugin likely doesn't - otherwise there wouldn't be a problem.
  • Hi, Thank you :)

problem solved, I just assumed it was something to do with the dlls,

I'll keep in mind that namespace errors can display in different ways

    Cheers,
