Map scene best practice, second player?

I'm creating a map scene, and I'm using the trail renderer on a tiny second player that I switch to on the map scene to create a travelling effect. Which is the best AC practice: should I use a second player for this purpose, then change back to my main player on the new scene load, or should I switch my main players animation to a tiny icon and activate the trail component on map scene load?

  • If you player-switch, then your "main" player will be in the scene you last left him.

    What you can do is place the new Player directly in the scene file, and he'll override the default one for that scene only.  It's not compatible with regular player-switching, though, so that's only an option if you only rely on one Player in the Settings Manager.
