The state of Spine & AC
I understand that using Spine with AC isn't officially supported. I also know that a bunch of us still feel that it would be a match made in heaven 
My latest attempt was buying this asset hoping to be able to convert the Spine animations to native Unity animations, but alas the end result always came out scrambled:

Is there anyone out there who got a working solution for integrating Spine with AC?
I take it that the following isn't compatible with modern versions of Spine?

I figured out a real simple way to let Spine piggy back behind the curtains of the standard Sprites Unity animation engine:

Oh, this was the hint I needed to be able to sort this out. I've made quite an extensive tutorial about this. If anyone needs help just get in touch!
