I am using latest of AC: 1.66.4
Unity 2017.4.17f1
My MainCamera is set to Clipping Planes far: 9000 (anything other than 1000 will still revert in play)
Then, when I hit play, it changes back to 1000.
I have also changed the prefab in Automatic for MainCamera however it still changes.
I'd like to know Why?
Also, how to make it a different value please, the reason is its a space game and it needs to see distant stars, etc.

The MainCamera will get its values from the GameCamera its attached to - this includes the clipping plane. Set the clipping plane of your scene's default camera to 9000, and it should remain at that value.
