closing menus with a keypress

Hello!

I'm attempting to have a single keypress close any and all open menus. I found in another thread this advice from Chris:

"2) When any such menu is on, call a looping ActionList that uses the Input: Check Action.  Set it to Run In Background, and check for "Escape" (this must be a defined Input axis).  If the Action returns True, use Menu: Change state Actions to turn off all the Menus.  If false, just loop it back on itself (easier to do within the ActionList Editor window)."

Is there any way to have the Menu: Change state action close multiple menus? Currently I have to type in the specific menu to close, and I have like 30 of them. Do I have to have a separate menu action for every menu, and keep adjusting this actionList whenever I make a new one?

  • I just created an asset file action list that turns off all related menus I want to switch off. And call it whenever I want to close all of them.
  • fair enough. thanks ;)
