Mystery parameter in Use interaction

edited August 2018 in Technical Q&A
I'm trying to understand something confusing in the inspector for a hotspot interaction setup. The configuration is as follows:

1 Hotspot component on character.

2 Interaction as child of the character.

3 Interaction set to use an asset for the action list.

4 In the Use interaction configuration, there's a mystery "Hotspot Parameter" field which has a dropdown to select a parameter, but the parameter options don't actually show the names of the parameters within the action list asset. Instead it simply shows [Parameter 1 (0), Parameter 2 (1)] as options. The right number, but the wrong names.

I hope this makes some sense... this option seems to do nothing, but I was hoping someone could clarify if they've seen this behavior?

  • Ignore this please, I realized the cause and it was because the interaction itself had those properties on it.
