I'm sorry to inform you but I messed up...The gameobject was inconrectly tagged. The tag player was on the sprite of the player's gameobject and not on the parent gameobject itself.
I took the liberty of whiping myself 100 times!

I am certain that AC v1.46d was working in Unity 5.1.1f1. I made a build Friday and that build works. I upgraded AC today and now it does not.
