Menu elements and inventory items appear transparent/tinted when made visible/added during gameplay

Using the wiki's Menu: Change Appear Type custom action I'm opening my inventory briefly, adding an item so it appears in its slot, and then closing the inventory up again whenever the player gets a new item. I do the same with a Menu Element (a button) when that functionality unlocks for the player, using the Menu: Set Visibility action.

In both cases, most of the graphical elements appear slightly tinted or transparent (I can't quite see which) when they show up in their respective menus.

I think someone else had this issue recently, but my search attempts are bringing up zero - anyone have any ideas?

  • Is this in a Unity UI-based Menus?

    If so, sounds like the Button is disabled, since the default colour tint it applies in that situation is slightly grey. You can change this tint - and transparency level - in the Button component.
