Facial expression animation glitch

Hi

I have a randomly appearing glitch during the facial animations, when I'm using the expressions

As seen here:

For this specific expression I use this settings:

And that's how I use it in Action Editor:

It a 11 frame animation where the first and the last frame is the same. I did this because I hoped it will help, but sadly it does not affect the glitch at all. It happens with every other animation as well.

I read in the manual as pro tip that ": The text token [expression:None] will clear the active expression", maybe that would help, but I have no idea how or where to call it to work properly.

Could someone please help me with this?

  • Welcome to the community, @Fhuma.

What are your AC/Unity versions, and is the Menu that displays the portrait graphic using AC or Unity UI for its rendering (i.e. its Source property)?

This looks like it may be related to the flickering issue discussed in this thread, a fix for which will be included in the upcoming 1.73.4 update.

The main culprit of that issue was to do with characters that mix both animated and non-animated expression portraits - is that something you're making use of as well?

Thanks for having me here @ChrisIceBox
    As for the versions:
    AC version is 1.72.4
    Unity version 2019.4.2f1

The Menu source is AC and all the expression is animated. The default one is a talking animation.

I tried the script what was mentioned in the thread you recommended, but the glitch still happening.

  • The script in that thread was related to something else - not the flickering issue mentioned as part of that.

I shall PM you a potential fix. If that doesn't work, I'm probably going to need your assets to see the issue for myself. See my last post in that other thread about the kind of content I would need.
