I've just noticed that if you run a "Check visibility" action and pick "In camera", it will return True even when the object is not within the camera boundaries, as long as as you can see the object in the Scene window. It took me a long while to figure out this was happening. I thought there was something wrong with my cameras.

This sounds like an unfortunate byproduct of the Renderer component's isVisible property, which this check relies on.
I'm not sure what the most reliable workaround would be, aside from keeping it in mind while testing.
No worries! I just thought this would be useful for other people to know. I'd suggest adding it as a note to the "check visibility" section of the manual, it might save someone time.
