NPC component impacting animations

Hi all

I have a drone NPC that has a spin animation. I've been fighting lots of oddities with it's movement when idle, and I've found that when I disable the NPC component the issues go away and anims and movement work as expected.

Any idea why that might be?

Here's a video showing a basic anim, with the effect of the NPC component being enabled and disabled.

Ignore Gravity is set to enabled.

Any ideas?

  • Are there more layers at work in the Animator? The video only shows a single animation on loop, but the animation is changing.

    Also, what's the Hierarchy chain like, and where is the NPC's root position?

    What's the intended behaviour, exactly? If you want the drone to move/rotate when idle, I'd recommend doing so with an intermediate child object/bone - so that the root position remains fixed when the NPC is idle.
