New item pickup - Text parameter

Hey all, I have added a new item pickup menu following the guide on the website. It works ok with default values but when I try to add "You have found:" to the text passing the [param:0] value I just get "You have found:X" with X being the number of the inventory item instead of the name of the item.

The name displays fine when I choose the inventory item parameter. Am I missing something? I've tested this with multiple items and its always its corresponding number that gets displayed.

(add image button doesnt seem to be working for me)

    Welcome to the community, @ContractedAdventurer.

I'm afraid the tutorial mistakenly referred to the wrong token. I've corrected this issue - thank you for the alert, and apologies for the trouble.

The [param:X] token represents the parameter's raw data - in the case of an Inventory item, it's ID number.

To get the display value of a parameter, you can instead use the [paramlabel:X] token. The Manual's "Text tokens" chapter has more details on available tokens.

  • Thanks Chris, that sorted it.

    Love AC by the way!
