Keep out of player's way stop them walking through walls

Do I need a nav mesh for this? or can it be done without, he does sort of avoid me but he walks through the walls too, even after I added a capsule collider. Cool feature though!!

  • Do the walls have colliders also?  I believe the NPC will also need a Rigidbody.

    If a guy is on a path is there a way to get him to keep out of the players way? Currently I am actually putting a trigger inside people so that they cant detect if im near by and do something else. 
  • No - if an NPC is on a pre-determined path, they will stick to it.
