locking folders in Hierarchy window

Under the Hierarchy window
I have many times very long lists from certain assets I imported. The
Castle game asset for instance has over 300 files of utensils, 1000
of walls and floors; the Maze asset when created is a folder
containing another 2-300 files of walls, etc. If you hit by mistake
one of those items on the scene the whole Hierarchy window is over
flooded and it is cumbersome to locate the head of the list and click to shrink again .

My question:

Is there a way In AC (or Unity) to lock a
folder from extending even when hit (unless you remove the lock)?

    The Hierarchy window is part of Unity's interface - it's nothing to do with AC.
