Long delay when switching to Chinese translation

So I'm wondering if anyone has encountered this before.

I have everything set up as far as text translations. I have English as my default language and French and Chinese as my translations. I use AC defaults to handle everything.

The issue is, the first time (and only the first time), I switch to Chinese via the default in-game options menu, there is a long delay (almost 2 minutes!) where seemingly nothing happens, and then finally Chinese is displayed and everything runs fine after that. This is true only in the standalone build, not in the editor where there is no delay.

What's going on? I'm stumped...

  • Please be sure to always include AC and Unity version numbers.

Do you have any other translations in your game? If not, does this occur if you create a new, unedited, language?

Does your Chinese translation involve switching font? Are you relying on speech audio for this or your game's original language? If so, please provide details.

Auto-connect to the Profiler in your build - that'll help shed some light on what's causing the holdup.
